THE INTERVIEW
- hidden extras!
You thought it was all over... well, nearly, but not
quite!
Here are some *ahem* outtakes from the interview -
these are the first few questions that we asked, and I missed from
the transcript due to, uh, technical difficulties...
[Nic
was handing round presents, the band had all grabbed a parcel:]
Kevin: I've got mine, I’m really excited!
Shaun: Does it rattle?
Kevin: It rattles a little bit.
Steve: Mine doesn’t. Can I guess? Am I allowed
to guess?
Shaun: You can try!
Steve: It's... not a book... it could be a dvd
or it could be candy, I think its either a dvd or something to eat.
Kevin: I think mine is the head of a small rodent

Nic: There are mince pies as well….
No nuts.
Steve: You understand our expectations are high
since the chocolate cake of last time!
Nic: I think they're good.
Steve: Good
Ed: Did you make them?
Nic: My mum made them.
What
made you release a Christmas album rather than just a single
Ed: We had so many original songs, I think when we started
writing for this we thought we might get a song or two, we ended
up with a bunch and quickly had seven original songs which was too
much for an EP but not enough for a full record so we set up the
single mike and did a bunch of one-takers like I Saw Three Ships,
Sleigh Ride and all that... [eating pies] These are delicious!
Steve: We're used to making albums when we do
recordings, not just one song and also we thought we had a full
album anyway. And then with the one-takers that Ed is talking about,
we treated them like it was a live show with the one mic acoustic
setup - like we did on the peep show and the last tour.
Shaun: (to Steve) And you did this at your house
in the summer? Did you dress it up to make it like Christmas?
Kevin: Very minimally, yeah. We had lights up
in the control room.
Shaun: Did you have Turkey?
Kevin: Yes, on the last day we had turkey.
Can we open our presents now?!
So them were the outtakes!
Here's
the final clip
it's Steve talking about fans trusting the band.
It really is 'Fin' now.
